A list of addiction treatment and educational resources for those looking for help for themselves or thier loved ones.

There are many local, national and even international organizations available to help spread awareness and manage substance use. The following is a small list of the hundreds of resources available to people struggling with addiction. 

SAMHSA treatment locator

If you or a loved one are struggling with substance use or addiction, contact the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357 for information on support and treatment facilities in your area.

 

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation

The national organization offers a toolkit, specifically for families, to support families affected by addiction. 

 

National Institute of Drug Abuse

If you would like to learn more about substance and treatment, NIDA has extensive data and research and other helpful educational material. 

 

National Harm Reduction Coalition

A national nonprofit that serves people who use drugs. They offer naloxone and syringe access, harm reduction training, and connections to local groups. 

 

Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services

The government agency has a help line for those struggling with “mental and emotional health,” call the Ohio CareLine at 1-800-720-9616, 24/7 for free. The site also offers educational material about addiction and prevention. 


Take Charge Ohio 

The website has information on using “pain medication safely.” It also has instructions on how to self-screen for signs of addiction.

The Soar Initiative

The organization has an app where you can receive updates on adulterated drugs in circulation in Ohio. They also offer free fentanyl testing strips at no cost.
